COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

The concept of the this collection is to explore and question the futuristic, purely science fiction timeline we find ourselves living in. I believe it to be one of the most pivotal moments in human history, rivaling the agricultural and industrial revolutions.While many of us remember growing up without cellphones or high-speed internet, we are now faced with the complete and total takeover of technology and online virtual existence dominating our daily lives, and the fact that artificial general intelligence will soon be unleashed looms ahead of us which brings this unsettling static social energy that is difficult to quantify or discuss. We have absolutely no idea what kind of impact the introduction of AGI will actually have, or how to deal with any of the possible outcomes. So we simply observe and wait, hold those that we love close, and try to keep one foot firmly planted in the natural world to stay grounded through the tumultuous transition.The uncertainty, fear, fascination, and trepidation of it all are hard to swallow & properly express. As someone who grew up passionately reading science fiction & cyberpunk novels, but also a lover of nature having grown up in a small remote island disconnected from the modern world, I am in constant awe of everything around me. The only way I can express these deep and existential thoughts & questions is through my art.THE ABYSS MACHINE
